The 42nd edition of the “Electrician’s Trophy” competition took place recently, and Adrem was proudly represented by some of the best specialists. Electricians from all over the country competed in practical and theoretical tests, and our colleagues achieved remarkable results, both individually and in teams. Among them are Daniel Lambă and Dan Teodorescu, whom we invited to tell us about the experience of the competition and what these achievements mean to them.
Daniel Lambă is a Measurement Specialist for Large Customers, he has been part of the Adrem Team for 15 years and has been representing us in the contest since 2008. Here are his impressions about this year’s edition:
You won in the category “Electricity metering electrician, checking metering groups”. Congratulations! How do you feel after this achievement?
Thank you for your congratulations! Finishing on the podium was a goal I set myself, and although it is the 3rd place, I consider that this achievement represents a validation of the effort made, both individually and of the team I am part of.
How was the atmosphere during the competition and what did you learn from this experience?
The atmosphere was characteristic of a competition of this level, in which the concentration and desire of each participant to win were evident. However, the breaks between tests gave us the opportunity to interact with colleagues from other companies. As a result of the discussions, I realized that we are all equally passionate about the job we practice. I learned that it is essential to stay calm and focused under the pressure of the tests, a valuable lesson that will help me in future professional challenges.
What advice would you give to colleagues who want to participate in this competition in the future?
For colleagues who want to participate in this competition in the future, I would recommend that they invest time and effort in preparation, both individually and with the team. It is important that they do not hesitate to ask for help from colleagues with more experience, as collaboration and information sharing are essential to achieving goals. During the competition, it is crucial to remain calm and focused in order to be able to fully capitalize on their knowledge and skills.
What are the challenges you face in your work and how do you deal with them?
Every day brings new challenges. You don’t always know what problems you may face, so it’s crucial to stay focused throughout your working hours in order to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
This year marks 15 years since you joined the Adrem team. What do you like most here?
I appreciate the seriousness and professionalism of my colleagues the most. These qualities contribute to a productive and pleasant work environment.
However, Daniel is not the only Adrem representative who brought an award home this year. The title of Youngest Contestant went to Dan Teodorescu, Measurement Electrician at Adrem Invest.
Congratulations on the award! What does this recognition mean to you?
I’m very excited! This is the second year in a row that I win and I’m very happy. I hope that in the future I will have an upward trajectory and climb the podium at the next stages. With this distinction, I want to set an example for the young people in the company and arouse their feeling of competition. A competition that must also be with themselves, in order to overcome their fears and surpass themselves.
What was the atmosphere like during the competition and what did you learn from it?
We had an atmosphere full of emotions! Emotions that we felt to the fullest! The competition is not an easy one, considering the experience of the other teams, who had their say. Personally, I am very satisfied with my experience and that of the team, because I know how much I worked on training during this period. I am happy that we have progressed compared to the previous stage, both individually and as a team.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the energy field?
The inspiration to follow this field comes from my family, my father working in this field. At the same time, I learned how to deal with situations, challenges and form a way of approaching them. I am deeply grateful for everything he taught me.
What are your main responsibilities and what do you like most about your role?
For me, the number one responsibility is perseverance. Only through perseverance can we cope with situations and keep up with new technologies in the field.
Is there a person/colleague/mentor who has had a significant impact on the evolution of your career?
To this question I will answer briefly: The ADREM team! Why? If there is no harmony and collaboration in a team, great results will not appear very quickly. At a young age it matters a lot to feel good in a group; you learn quickly, the answers to uncertainties are prompt. I had all the support of my colleagues, and this mattered a lot.
How do you spend your free time and what passions do you have outside of work?
I like creative activities in general. In addition to these, I enjoy football, research, and spending time with my family.
Along with the two, the following also participated in the 2024 edition:
Grigorie Iulian, Tatuț Laurențiu, – in the specialization Electrician for electricity measurement, verification of measuring groups
Teodorescu Dănuț, Manda Alexandru, Bara Florin – specializing in Electrician for installation and repair of MV & LV distribution installations
We are proud of our representatives and would like to congratulate them once again for their participation and achievements in the competition. These awards are not only a proof of their dedication, but also a reason for joy for the entire Adrem team!
We wish them continued success!
